Director of Coaching
Brian Claus is currently the Boys Varsity coach at Abington High School. Coach Claus comes to
Union Point Soccer Academy, having spent three years coaching in Needham before joining
Abington in 2013. Brian spent four years coaching in Abington before taking a leave of absence to
spend two years teaching and coaching in Shanghai at Shanghai High School International

Brian returned to Abington in 2018 and rejoined the program as the JV coach for the next three
years. Since 2021, Coach Claus has been the Varsity coach of the Abington High School Boys
Soccer team, having ended an eight-year drought of tournament appearances with five
consecutive seasons making it to the postseason. This past season in 2025, the Abington Boys
team won its first South Shore League Tobin Division Title in the program’s history.

Coach Claus is very excited to embark on this new challenge to develop the next generation of
young players with the goal of not only player development in skill, but also to develop a lifelong
love of the game.

“The game has given me a great deal. I am very excited to help develop the skills and cultivate a
love of the game in the next generation of young players.”

Union Point Sports Complex continues to expand its offerings to support the growing demand for
high-quality youth training programs. The Soccer Academy will serve as a central hub for player
development across the South Shore and surrounding communities.

Tryouts are scheduled for Tuesday June 2nd, 5:30PM-8PM (Boys U8/U10) & Wednesday June
3rd, 5:30 PM-8 PM (Girls U8/U10).
